End Citizens United Backs Katie Porter

You have to be someone of excellent character and integrity to make a project on EMILY’s List’s, namely WOMEN VOTE!, and End Citizens United pay attention to you. Of course, it is not the attention that would make a person noteworthy. However, the reasons why these organizations would put some energy into raising awareness for anyone is intriguing, to say the least.

For voters in California’s 45th congressional district, Katie Porter fits the bill nicely. One good reason why she holds awesome potential for the job is her career as a UC Irvine Law professor and a servant of the everyday citizen. At times, she conflicts with the interest of Wall Street big-banking clans. As a matter of fact, she has decades of experience, expertise and service in her record.

Perhaps most importantly and fittingly, she refuses to take campaign donations from corporate PAC organizations. Porter has the endorsements of Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Kamala Harris, for her progressive stance in politics. She is a staunch advocate for investment in public education. And, she absolutely sees the value in the establishment of Planned Parenthood and the Affordable Care Act.

The attention Katie Porter garnishes from WOMEN VOTE and ECU is a direct mail and digital advertising campaign platform. This platform’s purpose is to introduce Porter to the building public and educate them on her goals. The campaign itself is looking for a very particular set of Voters. It intends to reach Democratic women who are also unaffiliated and under the age of 30.

The true target audience are those who voted in the 2016 general election and also in a following Primary election. The net casted also allows for these female voters who took part in a 2014 or 2012 Primary. Just for a good measure, the eight-piece plans includes voters who restistered in November of 2016. Its target is more than 200,000 different voters in 50,000 different households.

It is a fairly huge project which requires a good amount of resources. However, both of these organizations are more than capable of handling the task through cooperation. WOMEN VOTE! operates independently since 1995, and End Citizens United continues to make waves and push progress year after year in politics. Katie Porter could not ask for a better source of campaign recognition. She also has a fair amount of personal interest in the current events of politics and social affairs, as a mother.
